
Research Pilot Project
Doctorate degree students will submit a pilot project, a small scale preliminary study conducted in order to evaluate feasibility, duration, cost, adverse events, and improve upon the study design, prior to performance of a full-scale research and dissertation project. The pilot project will help students evaluate if the research topic is unique, specific and outlines the steps needed to complete the dissertation research.
Curriculum & Learning Outcomes
Students will learn to evaluate if their proposed research meets the general accepted scientific criteria and if they are clear about the specific steps needed to succeed and complete the dissertation research. Some of the elements include:
- feasibility study
- duration of research project
- cost and financing of expenses
- adverse events and circumstances
- ways to improve the study design
- legal and ethics regulations to consider
- specific steps required to move forward
Degree Credits
By completing this course students will earn 5 ECTS study credits which can be applied towards the Ph.D. Degree.
