Master’s Health Coaching Practicum III

Students are required to complete a practicum as part of the Master’s Degree that helps them fine-tune Lifestyle Prescriptions® Root-Cause Analysis & Health Coaching Techniques & Protocols through practical application in a clinical setting with clients.

Curriculum

The Master’s Health Coaching Practicum III Course requires students to work in actual health coaching settings with an approved practicum III mentor and includes:

• Offsite Practicum in own clinic or with a partner practice/clinic/center.
  Student must request approval to either work with clients in his/her own practice or to work with clients in a partner clinic or center. M.A. students submit a practicum & client case review demonstrating mastery in Root-Cause Analysis & Health Coaching focused on health outcomes with at least 50 clients.
• 3-Months Health Coaching Practice with a freshman LPU student (year 1).
  LPU faculty will assign a LPU student (enrolled in year 1 – LPHC). M.A. Practicum III students will work with the LPHC student for 3-Months which must include 5 live consultations, reviewing & writing weekly Lifestyle Prescriptions® and coaching client via email/phone/chat for 3 months. The M.A. will benefit in learning skills and the new LPHC student will see a master practitioner in action and improve personal health habits.

Learning Outcomes

After completion of the practicum students will be able to demonstrate competence and mastery in applying:

• Lifestyle Prescriptions® Root-Cause Analysis
• Root-Cause based Health Coaching Techniques
• Lifestyle Prescriptions® Protocols for Auto-Immune and other complex health issues
• Lifestyle Medicine protocols

LPU faculty members and mentors will monitor and supervise and are available for questions, providing feedback and be available for regular live Q&A sessions.

This course can be accessed by M.A. degree program students.

Degree Credits

By completing this course students earn 5 ECTS study credits which can be applied towards the Integrated Master’s Degree.
