Health Coaching Core Competencies

Learn essential coaching structure, process, skills, ethics & legal considerations.

Health Coach Core Competencies

The Health Coaching Core Competencies Course will help students to be clear about the process, structure, ethics & legal framework when working with clients. This course teaches the essential health & wellness coaching core competencies based on the standards of the National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching (which has established national requirements for health coaches in collaboration with the US National Board of Medical Examiners).

As partners and facilitators, health and wellness coaches support their clients in achieving health goals and behavioral change based on their clients’ own goals and consistent with treatment plans as prescribed by individual clients’ professional health care providers. Coaches assist clients to use their insight, personal strengths and resources, goal setting, action steps and accountability toward healthy lifestyle change.
