Master’s Degree Capstone Project

Students complete their Master's Degree by writing a capstone research project about their specialist topic.

The final project before graduation demonstrates students’ in depth study of a topic selected by the student  and reflects students’ skills, knowledge & competencies in a project-based capstone format. Emphasis is placed on researching and advancing specific health issues or relevant Root-Cause Health Coaching™ and Lifestyle Medicine topics.

What is a Capstone Project?

Students may choose to demonstrate their mastery of a subject by submitting a practice-oriented capstone paper about innovative approaches or techniques related to Health Coaching or Lifestyle Medicine, review of client cases, curriculum development, policy analysis, or other related project demonstrating students competency.

To complete the capstone project the following steps are required:

  1. Submit your M.A. proposal to the LPU committee.
  2. Start your capstone project following the LPU guidelines.
  3. Write your capstone paper.
  4. Submit your final paper.
  5. Schedule a 10 min. presentation.
  6. Unless revisions are needed, your Master’s thesis will be approved by the LPU committee and you have earned your Master’s degree.

Specific thesis and capstone project guidelines and outcomes will be provided upon request and once the admission requirements have been met.

The capstone project will completed under the supervision of one or more LPU faculty professors.
